I had the pleasure to interview Janeal Falor!
So here´s the outcome :)
1. When did you first realize that you wanted to become a writer?
I've been writing so long, it's hard to remember a time I first realized it. I've always loved writing and creating, I think I was just born a writer.
2. Is there any author or book that inspired you growing up or maybe as an adult?
Growing up I loved A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. I felt like I could relate to it, yet it was full or the fantastic which only made it better. I will always love that book.
3. What do you do when you're not writing?
I am an author's assistant, so I help other authors with their needs. I'm a mother of three amazing children, so a lot of my time is spent playing with them. Also, one of my other favorite activities is fencing. Sword fighting is such a blast!
4. How did you choose the genre you write in?
I've always love Fantasy and it was just natural to write YA. I love worlds that feel familiar but aren't actually something you do every day, or even something you can do at all.
5.What inspired you to write "MINE" series ?
I'd been reading a lot of arranged marriage books and one day I though, what if these girls still had arranged marriages but for something different than money. Something they had, but couldn't control. Something like...magic!
From there, it all just came together.
6. How did you come up with the title?
I happened upon the title as I was writing a scene. That phrase just came out as I was writing and as soon as it did, I knew it was the one that needed to be the title.
7. What was your favourite chapter or part to write and why?
There's a scene where Serena is formally engaged to her fiance in a ritual. That scene was my favorite part to write because it played through my head like a movie. Even now I can hit replay and see Serena flying through the air and feel her fear and her determined spirit despite what she had to go through.
8. What's your favourite quote from "YOU ARE MINE!" ?
Ooooh, hard choice! One of them is:
"May I kiss you now?"
"I suppose it would be for the best"
9. How were you inspired to create Chardonia ?
I created the world based off of what needed to happen to the characters, especially the women. Most of the pieces came to me as I wrote.
10. Can you tell us about your upcoming book?
EVER DARKENING is a project I'm so excited about. It's a YA Fantasy with a dash of a Utopian world. It makes me cry a lot, but it also makes me grin like crazy. I can't wait for you all to meet Kaylyn!
11. Is there anything that you would like to say, to your readers?
You guys are the most rockin ever! Seriously, I love all of your support and love for my books. I'm so excited to soon be able to share more with you. Love you guys!
